What is Payforit

Payforit is the mobile payment scheme in the United Kingdom. Mobile payment with Payforit is supported by all UK mobile operators, including Vodafone, Orange, O2, 3 and T-Mobile.

With Payforit, consumers have a consistent payment experience whether shopping on the web or on the mobile internet.

The Payforit scheme can only be provided by trusted partners or Accredited Payment Intermediaries. Netsize is an Accredited Payment Intermediary for Payforit.

mPayment, Netsize’s platform for global mobile payments, fully implements all Payforit transaction flows and options. Through mPayment, merchants can use Payforit for WAP-initiated transactions (WAP Payforit), transactions initiated from PC browsers (Web Payforit) as well as mobile web browsers (Web Payforit Lite).

WAP Payforit

WAP Payforit enables the payments of goods and services that are ordered from a WAP page.

Netsize mPayment detects the mobile subscriber number and presents the Payforit payment screen to the user. Depending on the operator network, the merchant can optionally brand this screen with its logo. Netsize mPayment automatically handles all operator-specific conditions, thus ensuring Payforit compliance and relieving the merchant of this task.

Upon receiving the user’s payment confirmation, mPayment shows the payment confirmation screen. Merchants may optionally add marketing opt-in and single click purchase opt-in for future purchases from this merchant.

Web Payforit

Web Payforit is used for the mobile payments of goods and services that are ordered from a web page using a PC browser.

• Web Payforit offers an excellent opportunity to tap the vast online marketplace that is starting to be opened up to mobile users. Now end users with a mobile phone can pay for goods & services that were only available to those with credit card or a Paypal account.
• It’s quick, it efficient, it’s easy. To initiate a credit card payment transaction a consumer has to key in more than 30 characters, whereas Web Payforit only needs between 6 and 16 clicks. Also note that 60 percent of the UK population do not have a credit card.

In order to securely identify the user, Netsize mPayment sends a SMS text message to the user’s mobile phone. mPayment delivers the message directly to the subscriber's own mobile network, to make sure that the user will receive it.

The user texts back and/or enters a unique payment code in the online screen to confirm the payment. This completes the authentication and mPayment redirects the user to the merchant’s store to access the purchased item.

Web Payforit Lite

Web Payforit Lite is used for the mobile payments of goods and services that are ordered from a web page using a small screen browser, such as a smartphone. Because the user is not connected via a regular cellular network, but connects over WiFi for example, the phone's mobile number cannot be identified.

In order to securely identify the user, Netsize mPayment sends a SMS text message to the user’s mobile phone. mPayment delivers the message directly to the subscriber's own mobile network, to make sure that the user will receive it.

The user texts back and/or enters a unique payment code in the online screen to confirm the payment. This completes the authentication and mPayment redirects the user to the merchant’s store to access the purchased item.
